Career talk and encounter with NCR October 2018 CPAs

Sir Paul, an Audit Supervisor from KPMG Philippines, has been facilitating his so-called project "Meet the CPAs". For the past three years, he has organized various gatherings in Metro Manila and Baguio City to meet reviewees and examinees of the CPA Licensure Examination. Through this project, he bonds with CPAs and aspiring CPAs from his alma mater, the Northwestern University.

This time, he expanded his project by introducing this to CPA aspirants from Metro Manila. The pioneer group of "Meet the CPAs- NCR" is composed of NFJPIA-NCR executive officers and participants of various academic and non-academic events from PUP, New Era University, NCBA, University of Caloocan City, PLM, etc. They have attended various quiz bowls and seminars which have been co-facilitated by Sir Paul. With his affiliation with the firm, he was always sent by KPMG Philippines to represent them in various seminars and conferences of the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA) National Capital Region.

In rolling out this project, I was invited by Sir Paul to speak about the career of a CPA in the government sector. Other professionals in the other industries such as assurance, advisory, human resources and private sector were also invited to talk about their respective careers.

I prepared Powerpoint slides for the ease of my presentation. It was my first time doing so and I honestly got nervous because speaking in front of "potential" top notchers was no joke. To help them prepare for the board examination, I gave them tips in dealing with stress and paranoia. Also, it was fun to share my experiences as a student and a professional. Time flies so fast, eh?

Thank you for this initiative, Sir Paul! See you again soon with my new CPA brothers and sister from various sectors: Yochabel(Government), Christopher (Public) and Remnzar (Private).
